Christian McBride

I had the honor of painting Seven-time GRAMMY®-winning bassist, composer, and bandleader Christian McBride for the music room in The National Arts Club in New York City. It was an incredible night honoring this jazz legend as he received Medal of Honor for Achievement in Music.

Christian McBride is the artistic director of the legendary Newport Jazz Festival and the TD Moody Jazz Festival, as well as Associate Artistic Director at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem and Artistic Director at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He also hosts the radio program Jazz Night in America and is an educator with Jazz House Kids and Jazz Aspen. McBride is also the curator for the National Arts Club’s acclaimed jazz series, “Fine & Mellow” (a collaboration with the National Jazz Museum of Harlem).
